This Cold-Process Soap recipe has now settled in to become my Signature recipe after 3 years of experimenting and tweaking and trying! At 20% Shea Butter and superfatting to 8%, this bar of soap is nicely conditioning and cleansing, and has a nice amount of creamy bubbles with lots of moisturizing oils left to nourish the skin!
Scented with Dragon’s Blood: starts with a blend of citrus and smashed fruit with aged patchouli, and bubbling vanilla, ending with a swirl of musk.
My same 20% shea butter soap formula, but now with added Tussah Silk!! Adds a wonderful silky feel to the soap!!
Made using the cold process method of soapmaking and cured at least 4 weeks to harden and make a longer lasting bar of soap. Oils used with this recipe are:
Coconut: lends to bar hardness and lather.
Palm Kernel Oil: Contributes to the hardness of the bar.
Sweet Almond Oil: Conditioning and Moisturizing for the skin!
Castor Oil: contributes to a wonderful lather, and is a humectant, meaning is helps to drawn in moisture!
Shea Butter: Wonderful for dry, itchy, eczema prone skin! Very Moisturizing!
and
Olive Oil: Moisturizing, Humectant properties and lends to a wonderful slip and lather.
